36 weeks!

Spoiled.

Patty Cake

I'm am constantly impressed by Caroline and am pretty sure she is some kind of genius. On Tuesday, I was feeding her breakfast and noticed a new trick. The girl can clap. It's so darn cute that I pretty much spend all day trying to show anyone who will watch and singing to her. She claps when I sing, which I realize now because I always clap when I sing. What a smart girl.

Anyhow, my mom and I got a couple of videos today that I just had to share...

What a smart girl. :)

Beach video!

I forgot to add this video to my last post. It's short but cute!

Just a Day at the Beach

Ok. My hiatus is over. I am back in the blogging business. Caroline and I have been in Columbia since last Wednesday, which I can hardly believe has been 10 days. I feel like we just got here because we have been so busy. Once again, I have attempted to have a nice laid back visit and have, once again, failed at the attempt. I've decided to do my blog posts in no particular order, mostly out of laziness. I started with the pictures from waterproof camera and will then move on to my fancy camera.

On Tuesday, Caroline and I headed down to Bluffton to visit with Lizzy and Eli. We rode down there with Paige, our friend from high school, and her little boy, Charlie, who is 18 months old. Charlie didn't think much of Caroline on the way down. She was a little unhappy about the long drive. They got a little better after some play time. I have lots of pictures from playtime on my other camera but that will have to wait for my next post.

On Wednesday, we got up and went to the beach... and by got up, I mean we got there mid-afternoon after 2 meals, naps and getting 3 mommies, 2 toddlers and 1 infant ready and out the door.

This was Caroline's first time at the beach so I was excited! I was also over packed because I wasn't sure how long we'd be there or what you would possibly need for an 8 month old on the beach. Hauling all that stuff by myself was really hard and made me miss Dave really bad. Usually, I'm just in charge of getting Caroline where we are going, and Dave deals with the stuff.

I managed to get us both there in one piece though, and we had a great time. Anyhow, here are the pictures. I know that's all you want to see. :)

Here's Caroline when we first got to the beach. She wasn't crazy about how windy it was, at first, but she got over it.

Caroline exploring the sand. She sat there and ran her fingers through it for a while.

She was way too interested in the sand and water to pay attention to me.

Here's her beach buddies, Eli and Charlie.

She loved that shovel.

Sharing toys.

This is the only picture I got of the 3 of them. The boys barely stopped running around the whole time.

And THIS is the only picture I got of Caroline looking up.

If you look closely at this picture, you can see her sand goatee from her shoving handfuls of wet sand in her mouth. Gross.

I didn't get any pictures of it, but we sat in the surf for awhile and let the waves (little ones) hit us too, and she loved that! She squealed and splashed and had a wonderful time. Being there reminded me of how much I love the beach too, and I am so glad that our next home will be so close to it so we can play there all the time. We also have a family beach trip coming up in a few weeks, where Dave will be joining us, and I couldn't be more excited for us to have a beach experience as a family.

I am going to try to get caught up on my posts this week as long as I can figure out my mom's PC.
Stay tuned.

35 weeks!

Since I had her dressed all cute for Mother's Day, I went ahead and did this one.

Mother's Day Delight!

I would like to say that I pretty much have the best husband in the whole world. I was pretty excited about what was in store for me on Mother's Day, but Dave wouldn't tell me what the plans were. He's sneaky like that.

On Sunday morning, I woke up to this...

The cookbook is from Jack. The necklace is from Caroline. Dave did the rest!

Here's a close up of the necklace. The blue stone is a faux sapphire, which is Caroline's birthstone.

On our way to Mother's Day lunch at a undisclosed location.

I probably could have cropped some of the junk out of this picture, but I forgot.

And.... Caroline has my hair. Typical. I will be really happy when she understands. "No. That hurts Mommy."

Making a mess at Asti's. She preferred the tissue packet to the bread I gave her.

Fun!

She started to get really sleepy halfway through the meal.

Then they both fell asleep at the table.

Just kidding. Dave is faking.

We spent the rest of the day lounging around, and I took a Mother's Day nap! Caroline gave me a cold for Mother's Day too so we have both been dragging a bit. Well I have... nothing slows Caroline down!

I had a wonderful first Mother's Day. Thanks to all for all the sweet Mother's Day messages I got yesterday!

Syracuse Zoo

This past Saturday, we actually had some decent weather so we thought it would be fun to take Caroline to the zoo here in Syracuse. It's pretty small, but it was nice to get out in the sunshine and walk around. We actually made two laps around the zoo.

Ready to see some animals.

Our friend, Mr. Penguin

She started getting sleepy on the first loop.

Daddy found some deer.

Sleepy bear.

Sleeping monkey on Daddy's back.

Oh good! Mommy was there too!

The lemurs all napped in a pile. That's how Caroline likes to nap too... on Mommy.

Her favorite were the fish.

Daddy explained what everything was.

That's supposed to be an elephant.

Roar!

Penguins!

In other news, my big girl turned 8 months today! I can hardly believe it. We love our little girl so much!
